A father figurine
To sit at table head
From thence to rule
And newspaper read
Then to couch
To flip and smoke
Or childhood
Is incomplete

Yesterday

I charged bravely

into quixotic ventures

Tomorrow I will address important demands

But today I will,

dog-like,

lick my painful

bleeding wounds

And write poetry
